Hi, I’m Katie! The face and heart behind the camera. I have had a passion for photography for many years but never explored the possibility of opening my own business until 2023, and I am very excited to introduce you to Fern & Frame Photography!
Born and raised in North Bay, ON making the beauty of Canada a foundation and the reason behind the name of my business. When I am not capturing memories I am out creating them with my furry friend and lovely fiancé, I love slow mornings, good music, and anything that feels a little nostalgic. I am a huge coffee lover and watching the sunset. I’m definitely a “take too many photos, save everything” kind of person and honestly, that’s exactly the energy I bring into my work.
My top priorities are quality and comfort, every session is a unique story filled with emotion. I feel deeply and love passionately and I notice the in-between moments… the hand squeezes, the quiet smiles, the way someone looks at you when you’re not paying attention. That’s what drew me to photography in the first place. Capturing the beauty is like freezing time, so you can hold onto those moments just a while longer.

We are so grateful to share our lives with family and friends, but more often than not, our fur babies become a part of that, too. My life is filled with love, sloppy kisses, and dog hair stuck to my socks, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My girl Syren is my soul dog—sassy, spunky, and always up for an adventure. She’s my number one model and my favorite travel buddy!
Life is an adventure, prefer mine outdoors. From hiking, camping, Jeep off-roading to traveling the world, I love connecting with nature and embracing the elements. After all, what’s living in Canada without a little crazy weather? Whether you're looking for a dramatic rain shoot or a cozy couples' camping session, I’m always ready to embark on an adventure with you!
